Storage FAQ's

When can I move in? If there is a storage space available that meets your specific storage needs you can move in anytime.

How much notice needs to be given before I move out? We require a 2 week written notice before you move out. Our staff will go over that process at the time of signing.

What type of documentation do I need to provide in order to rent a space? We require a Government issued form of ID (example: driver’s license, state id, or passport)

Do I need to sign a long-term lease? No, we rent on a month-to-month basis unless the customer requests otherwise.

Do I need to purchase insurance in order to rent a storage unit? Mayflower Properties does not require our tenants to purchase insurance but we do require proof of insurance. The tenant may choose to purchase a reasonably priced policy through Storsmart Insurance, bring in proof of homeowner’s insurance coverage, or choose to self-insure. Does there have to be someone in the office to let me through the security gates? No. At the time of signing you will be given your own security pass code that will allow you access between the hours of 6am and 9pm. For a small fee, 24 hours access is available.

How do I make a payment? You can pay in person, mail a check or money order or make a payment through our website. You may also sign up to have payments automatically deducted from your credit card/savings/checking account monthly.

What forms of payments do you accept? Cash, Checks, Money Orders, VISA, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.

Do you sell boxes and storage supplies? Yes. We sell various moving supplies in our office. You can view a list of our inventory on our website.

How do I know how much storage space I will need? You can either use our Storage Calculator on our website or call our manager for assistance.

Can I just stop by to view the facility and storage spaces or do I need an appointment? Stop by anytime between our office hours; 9am and 6pm Monday – Friday or 9am-4pm Saturday for a complimentary tour of our facility.

Do I need to bring my own lock? We encourage tenants to bring their own locks at time of move-in; however we also have disk locks available for purchase.

Are there any items that I am NOT able to store? Liquids, Explosives, Flammable liquids, Toxic materials and Perishables. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding a specific item.
